| Sketching has been my first artistic expression from early childhood on, when all my schoolbook margins were covered with doodles. Later drawing skills became very basic in my professional architectural practice. Line drawing - it started with pencil, then - ink, and now we have a very flexible variety of markers available that are easy to carry and use. And that's what I use mostly now - especially in my travels when I always have my little sketchbook with me. I sketch in my moments of boredom, I sketch on the go, I even sketch while watching TV, where I find moving models good for training the eye and hand for a subject or for a composition. Most of my sketches do not have a specific purpose, but sometimes they become a basis for more finished artwork. |
